IT'S TIME FOR OUR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: Please take a few minutes to fill out the membership form to renew your yearly membership in the Washington Park Neighborhood Association.
If you are new to the neighborhood, have never joined the association, or haven’t been a member recently, we encourage you to join now and become involved in your neighborhood. The yearly household membership fee is just $15 (for one calendar year).
Your dues help pay for all the programs and events the association puts on for the neighborhood. We encourage every household in the neighborhood to become a member and join in helping to make the neighborhood a better place for everyone. In addition to being a dues-paying member, we really want you to become an active member of the association. On the membership form, please indicate which area(s) you would like to help us with. We routinely need people to help us with a variety of projects in multiple ways. See below for more information.
- Beautification - Beautification projects take place throughout the neighborhood. We hold park cleanups, as well as flower and bulb plantings in several neighborhood locations.
- Fundraising – We occasionally have to raise funds to pay for association activities and special projects. Past fundraisers include Yard Sales, House and Garden Tours, and a neighborhood cookbook.
- Communications - A few times a year we publish our WPNA newsletters. We always need volunteers to help deliver them to our 800 households, broken down into simple routes. Walking a typical route takes less than an hour and is a good way to get some exercise and meet your neighbors.
- Community Outreach - Neighbors to Neighbors is a volunteer program designed to help our neighbors in need.
- Neighborhood Watch - We need people on every street to be block captains to make our Neighborhood Watch Program successful.
- Social/Hospitality - Throughout the year, the association holds several socials, including the July 4th picnic, Fall Block Party, and Winter Social in December. We also welcome new neighbors to the neighborhood.
If you have questions about WPNA membership or you aren’t sure if you are a current member, please contact our membership coordinator, Rachel Wilson: rachelwilson@triad.rr.com; 722-1341.
A special thanks to those households that donated at a support level above regular membership.
